A Super Success Story!

Transferred on day 1 of life with Severe Meconium Aspiration Syndrome & Severe Pulmonary Hemorrhage by ICU

It’s not about limiting your challenges but about challenging your limits ‘

Pulmonary Hemorrhage has always been considered as one of the toughest challenges in inpatient management for any intensive care specialist.

A newborn baby born at Surendranagar was transferred on day 1 of life with Severe Meconium Aspiration Syndrome & Severe Pulmonary Hemorrhage by ICU on wheels by Team Orange. As the chest x-ray showed total white out of lungs with frank bleeding from the lower respiratory track, the baby was commenced on High-Frequency Oscillation (HFO) ventilation.

After giving 1 dose of surfactant via ET tube, UAC, UVC was secured and the baby was monitored closely with X-rays, ABGA and IBP. The baby required iv inotropes as well for biventricular dysfunction with iv antibiotics for early-onset sepsis. The baby needed 5 days of HFO ventilation followed by 7 days of conventional ventilation. Once again HFO proved to be the life saviour tool for Pediatric patients.

The baby was given HHHFNC support followed by low flow oxygen for another couple of days.

Today on day 18 of admission baby is being discharged with this bye-bye gesture

Each effort of the team aims at delivering the quality of care, every time & anytime, whenever needed the most.
