“3 Musketeers”

Preterm births are very frequent in our families /societies nowadays!
Along with pharmacological treatment, some crucial NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL measures (like KMC) help a lot in the better outcome!
Sharing an inspiring story of
3 such preterms / our 3 little musketeers, who fought for Life together along with their families, not for a week or 2 but for 6-8 weeks!
Yes! That’s almost 2 months!
Birth weight & gestation was as below
Baby 1: 780 grams, 26 weeks gestation
Baby 2: 850 grams, 28 weeks gestation
Baby 3: 900 grams, 29 weeks gestation

All 3 had severe respiratory distress, extreme prematurity & extremely low birth weight which required mechanical ventilation, noninvasive ventilation & a multidisciplinary approach by the NICU team for almost 2 months.

Team Orange managed these 3 critical newborns is not “THE CATCH” here!

All 3 mothers’ involvement in KMC (Kangaroo Mother Care) was the crucial part for babies’ faster & complete physical and neurodevelopmental growth after the stormy NICU course of the initial few weeks.

So, Let’s have some basic knowledge of KMC.

(As Knowledge would lead to Attitude and Attitude would lead to Practice – KAP)
